Forward Air says strategic review, potential sale still on track

Shares of Forward Air jumped 16% in after-hours trading on Wednesday after management from the transportation and logistics provider said that a strategic review, which may include the sale of the company, is still in progress.

Court: Yellow Corp's lawsuit against Teamsters can proceed

The third largest LTL carrier in the country at the time, Yellow alleged that the labor union breached a binding contract with Yellow and caused more than $137 million in damages by "unjustifiably blocking, for over eight months, Yellow’s restructuring plan to modernize its business, which is necessary to compete against non-union carriers that dominate the LTL business today."

U.S. freight market reverses gains in third quarter as volumes fall

The U.S. truck freight market saw a reversal in the third quarter, with conditions deteriorating and reversing a brief second-quarter improvement, according to a new report by freight audit and payment provider U.S. Bank. Compared to the second quarter, national shipment volumes fell 2.9%, while shipper spending increased 2%, according to the latest U.S. Bank Freight Payment Index.

Combined net orders for September and October are 32% below year-ago levels, highlighting persistent weakness in freight fundamentals and limited carrier profitability,” Dan Moyer, FTR’s senior analyst, commercial vehicles, said in a release.

UPS Scales RNG for Cleaner Long-Haul Operations
